American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians."
                                BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors (YKA BOD) is responsible for the overall management and control of the corporation affairs.
The YKA BOD is comprised of eight (8) Native Americans from the tribal communites of Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Napa and Marin
Counties. They are elected into office by the tribal community of the counties they represent. The terms of of the YKA BOD are staggered
and last for two (2) years. Elections are conducted annually in the following manner: five (5) open seats will be voted on in odd numbered
years
(2017, 2019 etc.) and four (4) seats will be voted on in even numbered years (2018, 2020, etc.).

The YKA Board meets monthly, typically on the first Monday of the month except during holidays. The meetings are open to the public
except  when the YKA Board must conduct a closed session to discuss sensitive or confidential issues.
STAFF
Ya-Ka-Ama Indian Education and Development currently has three (3) staff positions:
Administrative Assistant, Media Instructor and Caretaker.


Administrative Assistant
Under the guidance of the Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors, the Administrative Assistant provides
administrative support of the day to day operations of Ya-Ka-Ama.
The current Administrative Assistant is Betty Molina.

Media Instructor
Under the guidance of the Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors, the Media Instructor provides
instruction in  Computer and Media Arts Studies.
The current Media Instructor is Dan Bluthardt.

Caretaker
Under the guidance of the Ya-Ka-Ama Board of Directors the Ya-Ka-Ama Caretaker over sees
the day to day care and maintenance of YKA property and facilities.
The current Caretaker is Adrian Santiago. Adrian has been with Ya-Ka-Ama since 1996.
